Christmas in Rochelle

One of our most favorite holiday traditions is traveling up north to Rochelle, IL for the "Larsen Christmas" (David's mothers side of the family)  They are such a lovely family and always welcome us with open arms.  The are a LARGE family --- 60 minimum attend --- they have to rent out the church hall!
Poor David was a real trooper he had caught a nasty head cold!

They do a lovely nativity story and placing of the manager cast of characters - reminds me so much of Christmas at my Dad;s parents home when I was a child.

David's great Uncle Arvine.  Most of David's family is Methodist but Uncle Arvine is Catholic and we always pick him up for mass on our trips and have come to love this special one on one time with him.  He is such a fun character!

 Even Santa comes!
This year with an authentic wooden pistol that Garrett could not believe because it looked just like the one he had been checking out at Cracker Barrel the day before!!!
